The First Day

You know I think life is pretty funny, it takes real occurences in your life to see scripture come to life. I was in class this morning and talking with some of my friends and everyone in the group were laughing (now mind you this was before class)...anyways this girl on the other side of the room upset including myself and we automatically reverted to teasing her. Not really even knowing her situation well anyways before everyone picks up their stones to throw the story actually gets better so after class i asked one of my friends to take me to my car and another friend also went with us now this one friend she was feeling very slighted and we began to talk about the situation; as we about to say goodbye my friend said pray for me and in a general way i was like sure i will but right there the holy spirit spoke to me and said why don't you ask them to pray right now so right then in the car we ended up praying for this girl who had slighted us, we prayed that God would bless her and help her in her insecurities and that we would be able to shine the light of Jesus to her by blessing her even though she persecutes us. It is funny to me as i was praying i thought to myself isnt that exactly what Jesus did? While He was on the cross He prayed for the very people who put him there. It is my heart's cry to become like Jesus everyday and i think if we take moments in our lives to look around we can see opportunties where we can love like Jesus but i am not there yet, i am being perfected daily and i also fail daily but i know i have a loving father who continually forgives and loves, i was listening to the song inside out by Hillsong and one of the lines in the song caught "let justice and praise become my embrace" and as i thought about those words about loving God from the inside out is loving Him first in His justice and embracing Him in our praise, it is funny we are rebellious by nature so to embrace justice is a challenge, it is my prayer that God will make me "inside out" take the rebellious side of me which is in... out of me and in that i praise Him and embrace His justice!
